December Events!

11/28/2012

Picture
December is a very busy month for everyone, including PTA!  We have 2 events coming up that will be fun for all.  Our monthly Spirit Night is on Tuesday December 11th from 4:30-7:00pm at Great Skate!  It is a PRIVATE party just for Highland Lakes families, teachers, staff and anyone we want to bring. Admission is only $1 and includes skate rental (roller blades extra).  Come skate, have some dinner, and enjoy watching your teachers try to skate!

Picture
We are also having our annual Kids Secret Holiday Shopping Store December 10th-14th.  The kids LOVE to come and shop for family members and friends (even themselves some too).  They get gift bags for the gifts that they can then bring home and wrap the items with.  When it comes time to open the presents the kids are so excited and proud of what they bought.  The memories are priceless!

In order for those memories to continue we will need volunteers to help work this event.  You can sign up by clicking on the volunteerspot link here.  Let us know if you have any questions on this event.

PTA meeting

11/19/2012

Concession Stands

This year PTA has the privilege to run all the concession stands at all sporting events that HLS is hosting.  Starting in October we will have the stand up and running, but in order to do this we need your help!  We need parents to help work the stand during games and meets.  We are using volunteerspot.com again this year to help us organize the days & times and all the volunteers that we need.  Please check out the link below and hopefully you can sign up for a time slot.

Spirit Night!

09/28/2012

Great turn out last night at Barro's!!! Thank you to everyone who came out, picked up, or ordered in.  My favorite moment of the night was when there were a bunch of Highland Lakes families having dinner, the parents were sitting at their own tables and the kids from all the different families were sitting together at a kids table.  They were all having so much fun, laughing, talking, eating and (lets be honest) running around the restaurant playing together.  It was great to see how our school is truly one big family and has such a great sense community.

We are still working on our next spirit night for October.  We are hoping to have a fun activity to do!

For those who are wondering, the fundraiser orders will be delivered in the the middle of October.  We should have an exact date either by the end of next week.  A letter will come home with that information as soon as we get it.
